With a precision unibody made from a single block of aluminum, 17-inch MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, as well as more robust and durable. But Apple does not stop with the innovative design of the body. Latest version of Apple's MacBook Pro case combines a smoother, more GB of RAM, an SD slot, and prolong battery life, all with a reduced price. The 15-inch LED backlit display (available on previous models, as well) is simply amazing, with simple graphics and easy to the eyes clear.
Unlike previous models of MacBook and MacBook Pro, the laptop works pretty cool even after hours of CPU usage much. The case, though not as thin as the air is thinner than most (non-Apple) notebook that I saw with aluminum case that resists fingerprints better than the old MacBook. The keyboard is comfortable, with responsive buttons and is backlit with blue light. The touch pad is a square one, without a clicker visibly distinct, even if it's there, deep beneath the pad, left and right click functions, navigation via touch pad and clicker is very easy, but most of large users will want to buy a separate mouse, as it would with any laptop.
The 4 GM RAM is twice the lower part of the benefits mentioned above. The battery life is now seven hours. Of course, the actual time depends on what you do, but the estimate is very close. SD card slot is a nice touch. NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards has been integrated into the professional ranks for at least a generation, with generally good reviews, but this latest entry-level Pro no longer has a dedicated graphics chip. If you want the best graphics of the Mac, you must purchase one of the most expensive professionals that include integrated graphics and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT. For most people, however, this version is sufficient.
The MacBook Pro comes with iLife, the suite more recently, a fantasy series of programs that continue to improve: iPhoto, iMovie, Garage Band, PhotoBooth, iDVD, etc. Users of earlier versions of these programs will be adopted. Until now, it's Leopard operating system, although an improved version of the OS, Snow Leopard will be available in September. For a nominal cost (ten dollars), the buyers of new Macs will be able to update those who already have Leopard (but a machine than this) will be able to upgrade a bit 'more – on both occasions. If you read this review after September 2009, then the machine is installed with Snow Leopard.
If you want to run Windows on this occasion you will need to purchase a copy of Windows, like Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 Full version or another version, and a program like Parallels Desktop 4. 0 for Mac or VMware Fusion 2. Keep in mind that if you plan to run multiple programs on a Windows platform, you should probably not Macintosh. Most programs these days are the versions for each platform, but there are exceptions.
Students and word-processing/presentation heavy users should consider buying Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Home and Student Edition.
The MacBook Pro is a fantastic car. The debate between PC and Mac continue to rage, even if the computers like Pro win converts. Consumers who want a low-budget desktop for Mac instead of a laptop should see the Apple Mac mini MB463LL / A Desktop.
NOTE: This review is for the 15. MacBook Pro 4. Amazon has put together reviews for all sizes. Another client, the size of 17 inches has an SD slot.

After installing an update from Trend Micro and bricking my PC (which I was able to correct after 8 + hours of renovations and changes to the system firewall), I'm tired and I decided 'were made with Microsoft . I have been using the MacBook Pro from 15 to just under a week and so far I am happy that I made the switch. Obviously, there's a steep premium on the MacBook Pro, so I will try to cover items that the value of change and some minor problems I encountered for the first time Mac users.
Advantages include:
Beautiful + 15 "widescreen display. I have a 17 "for PC, and since the screen was a bit 'more square, I do not believe that the reduction in screen size is too big
+ Much lighter than the PC. A 5. £ 5, it is easier to carry similar-sized PC
Power + super fast and goes off. I would say it takes between 30-40 seconds of light, and less than 10 seconds to stop the movement
+ Life Battery robust. It is rated in 7 hours. This time varies depending on usage, but that's about right if you take the brightness and even surfing
+ Refined, a trackpad gesture. If you want to scan, scan with just two fingers to select objects or web pages, a touch on the trackpad to achieve this goal. Also interesting is the possibility to enlarge the web pages a bit 'the iPod / iPhone pinch. I wish you could save a zoom default, if Safari
+ No crashes, except for surfing the Internet (the latest)
Love + pre-installed application that comes with iPhoto to view and edit photos
+ No problem with spyware, viruses, or bad, antispyware invasive (eg Trend Micro) to combat
+ Exception customers (and I used them much so far!)
And now the worst:
– If you want a word processor / spreadsheet capabilities, you're basically stuck with the shelled out $ 100 for Microsoft Office. You can use alternatives such as iWork, but with most people using Office Standard, it makes sense for reasons of compatibility. No generic, pre-installed software, word processor, Apple?
– The learning curve (if you're an old PC user). The menus and interface using Macs are fairly presented, but is a pain to relearn where the parties are. For example, you are in Mail and you want to add a mail folder. Solution? Select "New mailbox." I'm sure that most PC users scratch their heads with this solution
– There is no "maximize" function of Windows. It will save the settings, after all you resize, but if you want to use a window on the screen, you drag some text books to make them as you want
– Port is not enough. It is an example. Say you have a USB mouse, you listen to iTunes from your iPod, and store backup data on a USB drive you are working in MS Word. Well, this is one too many USB applications, so you always have to unplug everything to meet your needs
– No keyboard. Now I realize that does not affect a significant percentage of users, but I am a boy of Finance, and the Excel workbook in a bag. Do not put a keypad lock is reasonable, but it is not reasonable, does not offer solutions / first third for USB / Bluetooth keyboard. Tools, anyone can find a similar enhancement
– A little 'hard to port iTunes media from PC to Mac You'll be in touch with the assistance on this, believe me
– Too many charges by Apple. $ 350 for 3 years of support, $ 99 for backup storage years. Considering that we pay for the MacBook, you might think that Apple would cut a chance on some of the extras
– This is my greatest sorrow. I had stability problems with my MacBook and grave AT & T 2Wire DSL modem / router to work together. Initially I had a problem with the airport dropped my signal (set with a Google search). Then I had many problems with the "broadband connection unfounded errors" my 2Wire. Once again, I managed to find an online advertising that has enabled my turn off notification messages 2Wire, to solve this problem. So, after much searching on Google, and technical support of Apple and AT & T, my internet is fairly stable, but still not great. I still have problems when the common Web sites will not load without interrupting the application and click the Reload button. Some users have had stability problems solved by purchasing the Airport Extreme router, but $ 179 is not a solution at low cost. I had no problems with other devices running Internet 2Wire. I do not know whose fault it is, but my stomach tells me that Apple did not go out of their way to make your MacBook too friendly with the 2Wire network. I think Apple should send me a partial refund of all searches difficult, I had to get a stable connection
So it is worthwhile to switch to Mac? In a word, yes. Although they are certainly more expensive 13 "models are available at $ 1,200, this would be a decent value. New Mac users will definitely notice a greater level of sophistication and simplicity when they make the switch. In general, a very nice laptop that could easily merit an evaluation at 5 stars if not for compatibility issues 2Wire terrible.
Update 8/5/09:
My 2Wire following error message and turns itself off reset while browsing web pages. The DSL and Internet lights would flash red, and my internet is disconnected for 20 seconds every time it happened. I finally found a solution to this problem. Not very happy with the additional $ 89, but my experience of the Internet, is finally stable. The product that I took the D-Link ADSL2 / 2 + Modem / Wireless Router Combo. I also reviewed this book on Amazon.
D-Link is strongly recommended for users of AT & T DSL with compatibility issues Mac/2Wire.

Coming from a disorder MacBook Pro Nvidia 8600M GT – let me say that I was very skeptical to buy another Apple laptop with an nVidia chip in it.
However, a weekend, I decided to visit the Apple Store near you and check the models just released. My decision was mainly influenced by lower costs and greater autonomy.
After some discussions to buy the old model for the same price or to get the latest version, we opted for the latter half of the order of $ 1999 model with 2 GPU. As is common, I received a very good resale price for my old MacBook Pro, as it had AppleCare.
This generation is an improvement over the lap of the last generation, unless you happen to use ExpressCard 15 "model that is. In our case we have never used the ExpressCard after trying to use an eSATA card, which has not worked very well. And we have some SD cards we figure you can easily use.
Thus, specific improvements over its predecessor —
1) Battery Life – I was very doubtful that the battery will last longer than 4 hours, but was pleasantly surprised that for surfing / type of e-mail and occasionally CNN / Youtube Video Get Flash 6 + hours is was very easy.
2) Prices – No doubt, Apple's handset prices are more reasonable ever had. If it is not necessary for the dual GPU you can get the $ 1699 model, which comes with a 2 respectively. 53Ghz processor, 4GB of RAM and a very capable 9400M GPU.
3) Operating temperature – I have owned my share of the portable computer (Apple, not Apple), and I must say it was cold – never gets too hot and I can not use it on my tour of all time – including the encoding video with the application HandBrake does not make uncomfortably warm. However, if the change to use the 9600M GPU gets hot, even for regular use. It also works very quiet – the fans are in May, but I see always.
Initially there were a lot more fury downgrade of Apple to speed Serial ATA (used to transfer data to and from the hard drive) to 1. 5Gbps, but Apple quickly restored 3Gbps speed – I do not notice a difference even if the hard disk 5400 rpm.
Information on-screen colors – it is beautiful and vibrant. I had the opportunity to use a calibrated color profile to make it even more beautiful. Yet I find the screen to be a bit 'too much thinking, but I'm almost always by the opaque screen and then figure is a matter of getting used to it.
Using Apple Mini DisplayPort is ahead of its time – it is not showing much support so I had to buy a DVI $ 30 – not a major problem, but Apple should at least bundling Re-boot using Pro adapter also another USB port instead of SD card reader is quite welcome – users can use the SD Card Reader for SD only, but a USB port can be used for SD cards and other peripherals.
However, this generation is generally an improvement very funny – the battery life is enough to convince one of upgrading.

4. 0 out of 5 stars not bad I had a Mac book for over three years. I have not had big problems with the computer itself, except for some things.
