With a precision unibody made from a single block of aluminum, the MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, as well as more robust and durable. But Apple does not stop with the innovative design of the body. The MacBook Pro also includes a new 13-inch LED-backlit glass display (instead of an LCD) and a glass trackpad that does not include a button (for monitoring the industry's largest) multi-touch features Apple technology. The monohull 13 inches…

Well, I must say I am very happy not to buy the first iteration of Apple MacBook 13-inch aluminum last year b / c they in fact passed the second time, turning it into a MacBook Pro! Its nice to have this "pro" stamp on a 13 "now! Apple has listened to their customers with the addition of almost everything we asked and more, and have managed to reduce the price! Thanks Apple!
Edit from last year
– $ 100 less
– 13 "Aluminum MacBook MacBook Pro has become
– 2. 53Ghz against 2. 4GHz Dual Core
– 4GB of RAM from 2 GB v
– LED display is the range of color 60% more than the previous model
– New developments built-in battery that lasts up to 7 hours compared to 4 hours
– FireWire is back (after all the complaints first model)
– SD card slot (replacing the Express Card Slot)
– The new models now come with iLife '09
– Audio is gone digital
– New model uses the same port integrated headset and the iPhone
PROS
– And finally, a decrease in prices with a performance upgrade! I knew that Apple could do. I was tired of paying for aesthetics and not performance.
– Upcoming Snow Leopard operating system upgrade in September will be free + $ 9. 95-port Any person who buys a Mac from 6 / 9 til December! Nice perk!
– LCD much better! in line with the Pro models. . is brilliant and a few reflections, but much more beautiful!
– The backlit keyboard on all 13 "models now! (I really like how you can be controlled from the bottom up)
– The battery life is significantly better than last year. (I have about 6 hours w / no regular use is reported 7 hours)
– The computer is beautifully designed real head Turner.
– ILife 09 is also ideal for photos, movies and music. A good software actually does not sell hardware.
– SD card reader accepts SDHC, which goes up to 32 GB and it works like a charm. (boot from an SD card too)
CONS
– No, really, but minor
– Power cord is very short and does not reach the places I want. . . must be near the exit.
– The battery can not be easily removed
– SD Card sticks about half of the slot. sore eyes.
– Blu-ray option would have been nice, but understandable, given the cost of the license. (BluRay that offers many digital copies of help)
Taking into consideration all the great improvements last year with a price cut now I can really recommend this almost perfect MacBook Pro!
STUDENTS: If you buy this at the Apple Store you get a further sum of $ 100 off a new iPod Touch 8GB and a new printer with discount), lasts until September!
This is my first Mac My first four computers running Win 3. 1, Windows 95, XP and Vista (circa 1995-present). I have a lot of time devoted to each. Switching from Windows to Mac is not difficult, but can be a little 'frustrating for a week or two. Some features of Windows that you will, but are overwhelmed by the majority of overall performance, in my opinion.
I spent two weeks with this car. If I had written this review after one day, probably say that I regret the switch to Mac after being familiar with the car and understand how it works, I would recommend this to a friend.
This opinion will be a mix of my impressions of both the hardware and operating system Mac from a Mac user point of view again.
The only difference between my car and on the product page is that I ordered directly from Apple and upgrade the hard drive of 250 GB (160 GB base option). I use 2 GB of RAM and processor low end.
My Mac OS impressions:
The biggest thing that I missed from Windows for the first time the taskbar. Mac uses the dock "to replace the taskbar. The dock is a bit 'like the toolbar in Windows Quick Launch bar is in full, with large icons. After using Windows with a tray over the past 13 years, I lost the chance to see all open programs and switch between them with the taskbar. The dock is a dot on the banner below for the implementation of programs, but nothing to separate it from other programs and folder icons. The basin is not as useful for multitasking the taskbar.
The saving grace that saves the Mac by some awkward transition while multitasking is called expose. Exposé is activated by pressing a button or using multitouch gestures (four-finger swipe). Exhibit uses the entire screen to display all open windows and allow you to switch between them. E 'as ALT + TAB to steroids. After using the machine for a couple of weeks, I miss when using Exposé use my Windows machine. As far as I hated the pier, at the beginning, I give the advantage to the Mac to manage multiple windows while multitasking.
Commands to open windows are very different from MS-Windows. Mac, there is a downsizing, hide and minimize button, rather than maximize, minimize, restore and close. To close an application on a Mac, you must use a menu command or keyboard. The resize button functions like Mac restore / maximize, only it is a bit 'more complicated. One speaker pointed out that here you resize the window to an ideal without using the entire screen. I find myself resizing windows by dragging the corners that I've ever done on a Windows machine. I really miss the opportunity to maximize, if for no other reason but to avoid distractions. Resize the green button on a screen could better be huge, but not on a 13 "notebook. When you minimize or hide an application on the Mac, is available only from the dock and hide to be exposed. I'll give you the height advantage of the Windows for the management of this contest. The system for Windows is simply easier and more logical in my opinion. Is not to do business, but I miss the "window of Windows control. "If you're a regular user of the F11 key during Web browsing in Windows, you must say goodbye to this feature. Neither Firefox nor Safari will go full screen.
Windows Explorer is "replaced" with an application called the Finder. Finder is a bit 'as the Start menu and Windows Explorer, all in one. Compared to earlier versions of Windows, the Finder is sufficient, but an explorer of Windows Vista is a bit 'easier and more logical to use. I prefer the preview of Vista Mac CoverFlow. I miss the "up folder". I found myself with the majority believes that the posts of files, folders and applications to column for easy exploration on your own computer and is not as elegant as Windows Vista. The lack of a maximize button has caused frustration in particular in the Finder because the Finder likes to sit in a window very small, unless drag the corners.
The Safari web browser is nice and fast and has a decent reputation for safety. I was switching between Safari and Firefox. Firefox crashed a few times and I like to be able to use the multitouch gestures with Safari, so I'm leaning towards making my main instrument Safari web. Read RSS feeds and bookmarks bar in Safari are really well done. Seafarers are so personal that it is difficult to recommend one above the other, but as a user of Firefox on Windows I think I have high standards and Safari met or exceeded them.
I hate iPhoto app. IPhoto will not allow you to view and organize photos into folders. Import your photo and order in turn is based on time / date stamps on photos. It works well for personal vacation photos, but completely mixed the rest of my paintings. Files that have been carefully designed to work projects, fun and cuttings network stuff and the adults have all been mixed in great confusion, after importing my collection of images. The end I just delete all and do not use iPhoto at all. Right now I am just using the Finder to browse my photos and a preview of APP to see them. Light work of installation is not possible to preview PPP and I have not decided what to use a basic photo editor yet. View photos app is not desirable, but iPhoto is still higher if you want to keep organized your photos using your file system. I know people who love iPhoto. Descend if you want the opportunity to organize your collection of yourself. If you have a great confusion of images, you'll love the ability to iPhoto to organize events and through the recognition of the face.
Edited to add: You can organize your photos into "albums", after you have imported into iPhoto, but be prepared to spend considerable time reorganizing everything. Even after having organized into albums, the main screen of the Library offers a view of your entire collection (maybe things you do not want everyone to see).
I have not used Garage Band or iMovie yet. I'll update later when I get the chance.
Edited to add: I played with a small garage band and is quite powerful. You can import and export files and record MP3 and AAC audio into multiple tracks. Very easy to use. The application only other sound that I never used audacity and much prefer Garage Band. I have not used the music lessons are offered for the moment, but the plan soon.
I played with iMovie for a few minutes and it seems very friendly and very intuitive. Not bother to Windows Movie Maker, which is included in Vista. Do not consider myself a big jump from Win Movie Maker, but it is an application of Nice.
Apps delivers mail, calendar, and address are at the base, but it works very well. The application will easily import files from the municipality. Syncs with Yahoo out of the box. Contacts are not synchronized with the contacts from Google, if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Everyone has an opinion on iTunes. I am a big fan of her. This is exactly like the version of Windows runs only a little 'faster, error-free. If you have an iPhone or an iPod, iTunes Windows bugs with the date and time is wrong when the computer is asleep is not a problem on Mac
Time Machine backup app and Mac 'surprising and very simple. I use an external drive connected to my wireless router, Apple AirPort, as backup drive. My wireless hard drive appeared on my desktop immediately after you connect the router. Time machine external drive immediately noticed and started working back up my files (after asking permission, of course). Now my backup machine automatically changes every hour, until they are within range of my wireless access point. Time Machine is a great load off my mind. If I never had a disk failure or my computer is destroyed, I have a backup copy of all accurate, not forgetting to back up my files. Vista will safeguard according to a timetable, but lacks the ability to see through easily back up specific files. Time Machine is wonderful and effortless for wireless backup.
Disk Utility Mac is almost as good as Vista and is easier to use. E 'far higher than that of XP. I used to format the external drive my wireless router because the Mac can not read NTFS (even if the computer is able to read NTFS drives through the USB port for some reason).
Graphical control program is a joy to use. When I plug my external monitor will immediately extend my desktop to the monitor. Setting everything from resolution of the rotation could not be easier.
Boot Camp is a utility that lets you create a partition and install Windows as a secondary boot (you must own or purchase one legal copy of the disc, 32-bit Windows XP or Windows Vista). When you start the Boot Camp utility, which gives you a choice between using 5 or 32 GB of space for the Windows partition. I learned the hard way that Windows XP SP3 does not fall under 5GB. You need to give at least 32 GB (which left me almost exactly 200 GB on my "250 GB"). Installing Windows with Boot Camp utility is very easy. Once you get Windows loaded, the OSX install disc makes quick work of installation of drivers for all hardware on your laptop. It 'a pity that Nvidia and HP are not easy to put together the best package of Windows drivers like Apple. To boot into Windows, simply press the "Option" key during startup and you can choose which operating system to run. Windows XP absolutely screams on this hardware.
Equipping
The material is where this car really shines.
The main advantage is stability. My last purchase of a computer is a Vista machine. To say that I have had problems with stability and hardware compatibility with my HP computer Vista is an understatement. The main reason why I turned to Mac for this transaction is that the hardware, software and drivers are made for one another. The car ran without problems for the last two weeks. I have two crash the Firefox browser, while watching the video in Flash, but only the browser, rather than the whole system.
I connected an external monitor, camera, iPod, USB, and the router to this machine. All drivers are already installed and everything is "just worked." The material is very pleasant to use when working alone. It 'hard to express in words how happy I am with the lack of effort in the middle of this machine.
The speed is not blazing fast, but it works very well with many windows and many applications running. My Vista desktop has similar characteristics, but my new Mac feels a little 'faster.
Productivity remarkable feature of this machine is the touch pad. Honestly, I prefer to use a mouse and desktop navigation features. I can not say enough good things about multitouch gestures. Two finger scrolling, two finger right click, three fingers up and down in Safari, and four fingers to expose make this car, like the press that is part of you. Having the entire surface of the touchpad as the button is great, especially for drag and drop. The large touchpad is very precise.
The keyboard is very nice. At first I thought the keys were a bit 'soft and the trip was too low, but I'm used to fast and now I prefer my more "Clicky" Desktop keyboard. I do not know how I lived so long without a backlit keyboard. The backlight is more useful than I thought it would.
The screen is beautiful. It has good color, viewing angle is very wide and bright for indoors. I would prefer that the screen is not glass, but the reflexes are not as bad as I feared. If a light source behind you, you need to rotate the screen to reduce glare, but it is not feasible.
The DVD player is a DVD player. Feels slow and a lot of noise. I've never owned a scanner that I felt fast, quiet and this is no exception. Works well, but it's nothing special.
Battery life is incredible. The seven hours of battery life is not an exaggeration, if you use your computer to use applications of light and desktop. Wait about 4-5 hours if you use it to surf the Internet and a little 'heavy media. Listening to music with the big screen could easily take over the advertising 7 hours. High-definition video streaming over wireless using Netflix demolish three hours or less. I do not watch DVD movies on battery, but I think just for you from a single two-movie with some hours' rest.
The size and weight are ideal for portability. 4. 5 pounds does not feel right until the light compared with the same spec'd machines that weigh a pound (20%) more. I would not want a larger car, if I had to lug around a lot.
The speakers are good enough for a machine of low light. Do not expect much lower, but the sound is very clear with good midrange and treble. The speakers are fed plenty to listen to music or podcasts in a semi-quiet room or medium sized office. I do not need to bring external speakers for use in my hotel room when I travel, as my last laptop.
The "MagSafe" Power Adapter is more than just a gimmick, and more than a simple way to avoid tripping and breaking your machine. Brick "power" in itself is much smaller than my Dell laptop last year. Exactly the same size as the wall of USB adapters to be used including the iPod. The cable is 6 meters long and bricks includes fold-out wings to wrap the cable around. It 'very well designed for travel. Wrapped with cord and insert the body bent, the power supply has only 2. 5 "x 3" x 1 "in the handbag. When used at home or office, there is an included extension cable 6ft to the mains so that they are not attached to your desktop.
The computer runs very cool compared to most laptops. Also, there are super-hot air vents out. Although I am sure that using a fan, I never heard, and heard a distant sound running stream of hot air. I think it can escape through the ports and the keyboard, but it works pretty cool that he did not notice it. Edited to add: it gets pretty hot during the viewing of high resolution video, but still pretty cool when a Web browser or using desktop applications. Even when it is hot, the fan is still quiet (the only way to hear the fan is really to keep it near your ear).
The only drawback of equipment compared to Windows machines is the fact that there is no option for hibernation by closing the lid. Sleeps when you close the lid, but is still using a small amount of energy. If you are just sick for a few hours, is not a problem, but you must close completely when the battery if it is farther away.
This machine is much more expensive than the same spec'd Windows machine, but I think it's worth the money. I am very satisfied Mac switcher
5. 0 of 5 stars MacBook Pro is my first Apple product, with the exception of the iPod. It 'very well done and looks great. The display leaves nothing to be desired, and he has the black keyboard before I.. .
I just received my brand new 13. 3 "MacBook Pro in the mail. I had mine fitted with 4 GB of RAM and 250 GB hard drive, but with the entry level 2. 26 GHz Intel processor. Unboxed I have before my mother and my sister, and both were oohing and aahing about how beautiful and thin, it was. They also liked the magnetic connector at the end of the tab, which engages the power cord from the computer almost by itself. I powered up the computer, went through the installation screens of Leopard and a few minutes logged during startup, the light sensor turns the screen gray, and an illuminated keyboard automatically. Everything about this machine suggests ingenious design and engineering, with great attention to detail. It 'very light, and since I use this school, I am very happy with the size and form factor, especially the charger. Going from a Dell computer sported a large load that could be used to force someone to death, the white horse that is about the size of a portfolio is a breath of fresh air. This notebook will be a pleasure to travel with.
There are things that the computer does not? Yes, there's Blu-Ray, which would have been nice, but for me it was not a deal-breaker. I suspect that the next-gen MBP remove hard drive rotary switch solid state, as the norm, and will have all Blu-Ray. Until then, this notebook is little more than enough.
If something is a reference to this computer, is actually only one, and this is true for most Apple products, iPod, iPhone and MBP "I hope we are not products of the laptops that are so textured coating easy to zero. Obviously after a few months to refer to class, will have a few scratches on it. It seems a bit 'a paradox: a society that both aesthetic value of worrying about how the product looks when he left the original packaging. However, this laptop feels very sturdy and not just normal wear marks, I fear it will fall to pieces, which is much more than I can say in my previous piece of shit plastic.
In reading the comments, people seem unable to understand that this is considered an ultra-laptop. Simply do not have a connecting device for each type of flash card, and five USB connections. They are serious people chastising Apple for the fusion of audio jack in / out ports in a port? Really, who gives a rat a $ $? This is a portable, not Media Center. If you are someone who supports these things, you're free to go out and buy the necessary adjustments, but I'd rather have a lightweight computer that I can easily tote around. If you want a laptop that is ready for any opportunity to buy a Dell desktop replacement 8 pounds, and have fun. For my part I think people just want a reason to complain or find something to complain about. The fact is that for the money, you will not find a laptop better than this. The cost is a bit 'over competing products PC, but I have owned Dell and HP, and I can tell you, you get what you pay for. If you use a laptop for at least several hours a day, I think it's worth a few hundred more for something really high quality that makes you happy, so I upgraded to the MBP.
5. 0 out of 5 stars New Mac convert, I used the Windows-based computers a bit 'now, and they gave me nothing but headaches.
4. 0 of 5 stars Bat laptop love the efficiency and ease of use right of the box. The first time I had a Mac from Apple and probably replace all the other PCs in the house with a MAC in the coming years. . .
1. 0 of 5 Star Customer Service is horrible for buyers Amazon Do not buy Apple products from Amazon, Apple has very little support for equipment not purchased from them.
5. 0 of 5 stars exceeded my expectations This is hands down the best computer I ever owned. Laptop computers are the property since 1998 and never return, especially for "Dell Hell.
5. 0 of 5 stars for the perfect notebook for my needs! First, I want to say that this is not a Mac vs PC Magazine. People can get a little 'crazy for their comments and preferences, and I want to clarify that it is just that – a. . .
